simulation - live auction console
This simulation is designed to help you become
familiar with a 'live' console. You can use it to help you learn how to place
bids in our auctions. Simply enter each bid using the 'place
bid' entry box.
This is only an approximation
of our actual bidding engine; no lot
is offered and you are the only real bidder

Things you should know about this simulation...
- Each time the simulation is run you are able to place up to 50 bids
- Your bids can be anything from 0.01 to 50.00, anything else will generate an error message in the message box
- Once you place a bid it appears in the current status panel with one
of these icons

- If any of your bids change status (e.g. unique to not unique;) then the icons will change to reflect this and the value of the bid will appear in the status change panel
- The triangular status icons
dynamically update to point in the direction of the current lowest unique
bid - There is no intelligence in the 'robots' that are bidding against you, their bids are random
- When you have one or more of the ten lowest unique bids, you will see your bidder id on the leader board (or SIMuser, if you are not logged in)
- On the progress bar
- when the blue bar grows from the left, it depicts the number of bids placed by you and the 'robots'
- when the red bar grows from the right, bidding activity is slowing down and 'total bids available' is being reduced by the bidding engine - to stop the auction stagnating
